Found an old journal entry from Sept 2006:
Yesterday I ate all fruits and vegetables except for a little rice. I also went to the grocery store and after pulling stuff out of the produce aisle for about 20 minutes I headed to other aisles only to realize there really wasn’t anything else I needed or WANTED!!! WHAT A THRILL. I was so tickled too at my treats, I bought watermelon, olives, asparagus, tomatoes, green beans, romaine lettuce, peaches, mixed legume sprouts all sorts of goodies!!
When I first started to fall in love with the raw food idea I allowed myself to buy whatever I wanted. The expense of the food took the backseat and my wishing for the best health took the drivers seat. It really is funny how now I spend ALOT of time in the produce section and require so little from the others. Most of my life it was the opposite, now I discover all these foods I never even knew about!
And they are beautiful, they are not boxes.
You really do get to a point where you just don’t want the old stuff anymore. The new raw food just makes you feel so good you find yourself wanting to feel that way. And when the old food doesn’t make you feel that way you notice and it becomes disappointing to eat the old foods.
