Here I’m using aBlendtec (used to be K-tec), my favorite blender for years now, to make a green smoothie: kale, pineapple and flaxseed – enjoy. I mention you can blend a cell phone (don’t do it – the ground powder from electronics is toxic – yuk). Best of luck to all of you in enjoying new ways to include great raw vegetables and fruits.

KitchenAid’s blender is also one-piece and faster than that one. Blends anything and is under $100! NAYY. I love it.
I have burnt out three blenders that cost less than 100. Good luck, I hope this one works for you! It would be great to hear from you how long and how much you have been using this one and if you are getting a burnt smell from it.
I have a number of suggestions, and since I’m your mom, I get to say them: First, I LOVE your shirt! Gorgeous! Which is a good thing, since I never got to see your beautiful face. Also, I’d like to have you straighten up the kitchen a bit — that towel hanging by the window looks very sloppy (and isn’t it covering that adorable cow?), and the counter has fruit scattered about, which is nice, but why not make the place look a little more organized before sending out a picture of it to the entire world? I really think you should wash that kale before slamming it into the drink. I’m sure it’s organic, which means you could be putting some bugs in that smoothy. Yuck! And lastly, are you sure that combination of foods is actually good? It sounds really weird. Oh, and the hole in the lid is for gradually pouring liquids into the blender. I just love you to pieces!!!!
I love you too!! Hey, thanks for all the great tips. I have to start somewhere. : )
Good grief…I NEVER thought you’d put my very personal comments out here for everyone to read. Gasp! I was a bit harsh, when what I should have said is how proud I am of your learning how to put a little movie out here for us all to view and enjoy. You are very clever. And beautiful and skinny too.
Love,
Mom
Thanks for the blender tips, E! We’re going to get one of these blenders from Costco (they have a good deal on them this week). I, too, have burned up several blenders (mostly trying to make pina coladas!). This blender will totally eat up ice like it is nothing! And I love how you can make healthy “ice cream” with them!
Really cool and simple recipe.. I was hoping to see the finished product and see the final taste test but still happy to see a easy useful recipe. Thanks 🙂
So sorry I missed showing the finished smoothie. This is one of the most beautiful sunny smoothies ever – a green so beautiful! I really hope you give it a try. Greens are the most important thing for rawfoodists (who typically do too much fruit and nuts). BEST of luck to you, I saw your youtube video on airplane flights – it was so great. My mom talks about how tough the airplane rides are for her. Now she has lost weight and looks great, however she still has those thunder thighs – as she calls them. Again best wishes to you.
